Thankfully, JESUS
Jesus, we are Thankful!
No matter where we live, or what season or climate we find ourselves in, a sure way to “get out of the doldrums” of life is to give thanks. As Christians, our praise and thanksgiving are the answer to the “darkness that surrounds us.” Let us:
Psalm 100:4 (NKJV)
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
In many elementary schools this time of year, teachers will assign their young students to list the things they are “thankful for”, so in like manner, the following is our list.
JESUS, we are THANKFUL: (for / that)
J = justified by His grace
E = every promise in God’s word
S = sins washed away by the Blood of the Lamb
U = unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace
S = shalom of the Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 3:24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
Revelation 1:5 to Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood
Ephesians 4:3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
John 14:27 Peace (Shalom) I leave with you, My peace (shalom) I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
T = Today, … hear His voice
H = healing wholeness by Jesus Christ’s stripes
A = authority in Jesus Christ
N = no weapon formed against us can prosper
K = King Jesus our Bridegroom
F = family and friends
U = under our feet (satan is crushed)
L = life more abundantly
Hebrews 3:7,13 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice”; … but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today”
1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
Matthew 28:18-19 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper
Revelation 19:13, 14,16 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God…. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses…. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Ephesians 2:19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God
Romans 16:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Be blessed and remember to be “thankful” each day as we “finish the race set before us”; “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” (Hebrews 12:1,2; Titus 2:13)

We Are STILL The Light
![]() |
Washington Monument: The world's tallest obelisk. |
John 1:4-5 (NKJV)
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it
By now we’re sure you are all aware of the growing list of powerful people, especially in Washington and Hollywood, accused of sexual misconduct and criminal perversion. Of course, these incidents are not exclusive to Washington and Hollywood, but as the nation’s Capitol and the nation’s media/entertainment center, what occurs there reflects our society as a whole.
While our purpose at the Herald of Hope continues to be bringing you the blessed hope found only in our Savior Jesus Christ, we would be remiss if we did not briefly comment on the state of our nation's spiritual health. Make no mistake about it; this issue is spiritual in nature. How do we know this? The prince of darkness made a very clear mark on our nation. Two symbols in the form of the obelisk and capitol dome have been glorified. In ancient times the obelisk and dome represented the male and female reproductive parts respectively. We are not going to go into any further detail in this post, but please consider our position from scripture. The evil and discord that is going on around us is indeed spiritual in nature. We have personal authority over this present darkness through Jesus. However, we must understand what it is that we should take authority over.
Ephesians 6:12-13 (NIV)
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
If you want further information on the symbols in Washington, DC and their origins/meanings please PM us. We’ll send you some relevant teachings. Most importantly, remember that Jesus loves you beyond measure regardless of our surroundings. Stand Firm!!
John 8:12 (NKJV)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
